One of many early "here's how you DON'T make a Summoning contract" experiments, that Clans without seal masters were attempting. He's honestly lucky HIS attempt ended with him still... you know... ALIVE. Problem, though? After bunking for like... a few months? A year? In the command center?

And you know, terrorizing the GIW into complete collapse. Parenting him through some pretty serious life changes. Somehow making Sam MORE terrifying. And a whole host of off screen ninja shenanigans? They figure out? Oh. Only way to send him HOME is to either accept or refuse a Contract.

They gotta make one.

First they head to Frostbite for a recommendation, then? Off to a reputable Ghost Lawyer they go! They have to camp in the waiting room for like... a week. But? Worth it! The contract is AMAZING. And terrifying! Protects them both. Can't be used against EITHER. And that loophole you're thinking off? Ten pages worth of point 4 script, twenty three yards down, for why it's a BAD IDEA and breaks contract~!

Neither of them can make the other do SHIT! Only fully consensual, mutually beneficial, ass kicking here! If we FEEL LIKE IT!

It's a HUGE, glowing, death radiating Summons Contract kept in a shrine behind like... SO MANY seals. It makes anyone less then a full grown JOUNIN physically SICK to even touch! Prolonged exposure kills people! Of COURSE it gets fuckin stolen. It's obviously a super, mega, ultra rare AMAZEBALLS Summon Contract... right?

If you don't flinch away from a spirit of the dead. Can embrace the chaotic nature of a Zone ghost. Are kind to something that isn't what you expected, that you can USE, that appears weaker then you. Something that seems dumb. Distractable. Useless in battle.

Can you be kind? Do you immediately give up? To recognize a test when you see one? Is your first impulse cruelty? Distain? It tells Danny a lot. Saves him time.

Which? Is how a young Itachi, freshly Jounin'd, gets thrown through an old and rotting wooden gate into what LOOKS like a vaguely demonic death shrine. Hmmm, concerning. Baby 'tachi has been separated from his teammates. Is having a Bad Time™. The crows can't really help much here.

And, well, that IS a Summoning contract...

He's outnumbered. Low on both weapons and Chakra. Refuses to do anything BUT return home to his family. His baby brother. Is it WISE? No. It is in fact, incredibly, incredibly UNWISE. He has no idea what he'll be agreeing too. But... so long as he live just a bit longer...

He slams an earth wall against the entrance.

Falls back to the Glowing Contract.

Stumbles, as even landing near it makes his insides revolt. His skin prickle and burn. Colder then the nine tails Chakra, emptier, yet somehow endlessly more ABSOLUTE.

It's like the very Chakra in his body screams against it. Rejects it's mere presence. As though all thing alive REFUSE it with desperation and fear. He has no time to muse upon this. It hurt his hand to touch. He does so anyway. Struggling to hold the earthwall against enemy attacks.

He doesn't bother to read the contract. Flings it from the pedestal, to unravel, so he may sign quickly. There. With a practiced motion, he nicks his finger, and scrawls his future away. Whatever demons may come. Whatever monsters this brings. Please... let him live long enough to say goodbye.

Frozen. Eyes wide. Sharigan spinning, spinning, spinning. Capturing the delicate lace of nothingness, absence of life, as it drifts by. Unable to move from where he kneels, bloody hand pressed to the ground, in a Summoning.

What Has He Done?

Outside there is panic. Screaming. They flee. He... he wishes he could flee. W...why can't he-? *THHHWAP!* Mmmmph?! Something small and almost bird shaped smacks into his face like a flung ration. Tiny arms spread wide to cling to his bangs and dangle. The deathy power fades... almost... almost as though it were... a threat display?

He focuses on the tiny creature whining and hugging his face. It... is a floating snake toddler? Or is it dragon? They have sharp little claws and stars along their face, a tiny whispy mane of white. Likely a dragon child then. They stick their small tounge out slightly, eyes the blankly trusting stare of small children everywhere.

He clearly want to be carried. Ah. Of course, little one.

Did... did he agree to raise a dragon?

Itachi, smol. Serious. With lil baby man floped on his head or tucked lovingly in his arms. The TEXTBOOK definition of "he don't bite" "YES HE DO!!!" For everyone but Itachi and Sasuke. To whom he is, of course, an INNOCENT BABY who has NEVER done anything wrong EVER. An angel! Why is everyone being so MEAN to poor innocent baby man? Boo hoo~!

It fucks up SO MANY plans.

Because Itachi. A smol child. INSISTS he is a Father now. What are you going to do? Say he can be? Why? Because he's a CHILD? Which is it? Is he a Jounin or a Dependant? An adult in the eyes of the law or a child to be protected by said law from pushing him off to war? Old enough to die, old enough to parent his dragon son!

And SORRY Father, he CANT join Anbu. Who would be there for his child? Ah, he should join a parenting group. *various competent parent instincts go haywire over this tiny Uchiha child in need of parenting* Danzo? For some reason his son seems to really, REALLY hate him. Better avoid him. His child doesn't know yet not to bite respected elders.

Sasuke? Gets to be an UNCLE! To a DRAGON! He takes his job very seriously.

It's the best PR the clan has ever had.

Headcanon time for this individual Ice Dragon! At least proper this time, lmao

After the Dragons were freed from Imperium, the individual Ice Dragon that remained with the Ninja revealed that her name was Glacier.

She comes from the secluded mountains of the Never Realm's very far north, where there is snow for a good majority of the year save for brief respite in spring and summer.

The other Ice Dragon seen with her in Cloud Kingdom before their capture was a relative, her cousin Borealis. After Imperium, he'd gone his separate way while Glacier remained with the Ninja in curiosity. (Also, because Zanth had asked her if she wished to join them).

Glacier tends to be the quietest down in the caverns. She often only speaks when spoken to or is very curt - not out of rudeness. Mind you, her kin are just very shy in comparison to other types of Ice Dragon seen.

Zanth is the one who usually tends to draw her out of the shell she had around herself - getting the most reclusive member of the flock to interact with others and play games with them.

Funnily enough, after about a year or so with Zanth's constant coercing, she sometimes seeks out consultation from Heatwave on what to do with the feelings she has. The older of the two Fire Dragons often provides her advice when she needs it.

Jiro avoids her for.. reasons she knows about due to Heatwave and Zanth telling her some bits before the Lightning Dragon arrived back home after the battle against Beatrix. She knows it's not something to take personally, but she sees how he trembles whenever her presence causes the vicinity to cool - and sometimes wonders if she should leave despite Zanth and Heatwaves disagreements.

She gets along with Riyu fine, though she isn't really sure what to do whenever he approaches her - she sort of just lets him take the lead in the conversation. It had been hard trying to console him, especially when he came back after hid Tribemother's death and only found her in the caves that the time as the others were doing tasks.

Generally, she and Rockslide get alone pretty well- he sometimes asks her to help freeze his statues until Geo comes around to fusing them. She often joins him in creating stuff out of ice with her frostbreath, finding it... relaxing.

She and Torchspark don't really see eye to eye, but there are times when they come together and talk it out(with a little help from the flock leaders A.K.A Heatwave, Zanth and Lloyd).

Ninja wise, she isn't really used to Kai and Wyldfyre's outgoing personalities quite yet - though she thinks both are very kind despite their volume. Nya sometimes terrifies her with her anger, though Glacier's aware stress can do that.

Sora and Arin are.. about the same, they don't really approach her- well, Arin does more than Sora, actually. He sometimes asks her for favours whenever the others are busy, so she likes to think she's helping out.

Cole she considers very sweet, even if she can tell he's hiding some bits of sadness within - she can smell the Earth Dragon on him- Rocky, if she remembers the Firstbournes grandson correctly.

Zane and her often come together to spend time with each other. She tells the few stories about Shard's lineage that she knows, and Zane resells the ones he spent with the Ice Wyvern. Though another pass time they like is playing some games- albeit it's a little hard for her due to her size.

Before The Merge and everything with Cloud Kingdom and Imperium, she lived a very solitary life - not that she minded really. Her variation of Ice Dragon was often known for living alone. It often works better considering where they live - though she knows of some that do live in flocks.

She and Torchspark are tied for first largest. With the other resident, Fire Dragon, being a little longer than her but not as heavy. Then it's Jiro, and then Zanth in third(she cheats by growing bigger) Heatwaves in fourth, Vigor and Rocklside being tied for Fifth with Riyu and Wyldfyre being the smallest

Exploring the Ice King (1)

As I write these lines, the first snowfalls happened in France. To fit with the weather, I thought of starting something I was planning to do for quite a long time... A series of posts talking about Adventure Time's Ice King.

Well... not posts talking really about him. But rather posts talking about the origin, the formation, the tropes and archetypes at play with this character. Adventure Time is a very, very weird media in terms of mediatic evolution as it is a very bizarre yet influential step in the evolution of fantasy, placing itself as the unusual crossroad between faithful homage, absurdist parody and fresh continuation. It's... well it's weird. And the Ice King, one of the most crucial characters of the series, is a literal melting pot of MANY many different elements of the fantasy fiction.

I will start in this post with the function of the Ice King, mainly how he manifests the type of the "recurring pitiful villain".

When I think of a potential cultural ancestor for the Ice King, being a French person, I immediately think of Gargamel, the main antagonist of the Smurfs.

Why? It seems at first the two have nothing in common... And yet when you think about it, the two are old, ugly men practicing magic. The two are recurring villains that become one of the iconic head of the show. The two start as a legitimate, creepy, evil threat and then devolve in a pathetic, foolish, almost friendly foe - notably because each of their scheme and plan is bound to fail or blow back in their face, as part of the law of "evil can't win". The two are driven by a monomania, an obsession that becomes their main trait (capturing princesses/capturing the Smurfs), and the two have an animal sidekick that they treat with a mix of abuse and love (Gunther/Azrael).

I can't claim that the Ice King was directly inspired by Gargamel... But it is interesting to point out that the Ice King answers to a very specific type of villain in older children cartoon: the recurring but ineffective villain, the returning protagonist who always fail and despite his antagonism is part of the "main cast" so to speak, the "evil" guy who isn't so much evil as just a weird goof we laugh more at than we really dread.

A more American example could be Dick Dastardly from "Wacky Races", who has the bonus point of also having an animal sidekick:

There are many, MANY iconic and classic exemples of the "recurring, ineffective villain" in older children cartoons. I evoked Gargamel and Dick above because of their familiar animal, which highlights the parallel, but other "predecessors" of the Ice King include The Professor from Felix the Cat (bonus point for being an old man with a strong white theme and this huge mustache - and extra bonus point when you know that "Felix the Cat" was one of the first inspirations for Adventure Time's artstyle):

Elmer Fudd, who was eventually so pitiful in his evilness that Yosemite Sam had to be introduced (Yosemite Sam could also have played a part in the Ice King's creation as he has the King's short-temper mixed with the luscious facial hair):

You can also count in Wile E. Coyote - he isn't obviously related to the Ice King and I don't think he was an inspiration, but he is one of the icons of the "loser villain" that keeps inventing extravagant schemes, a monomaniac who is doomed to never succeed.

Or Shredder, from the old Teenage Turtle Ninjas cartoon...

... Or even "Eggman" Robotnik from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise (there is something to be said about how a lot of these characters enjoy excentric facial hair).

And to conclude we need, of course, to bring forward the greatest of all these ineffective antagonists, and one that clearly did have an influence over Adventure Time: Skeletor, who was such a failure that the writers of He-Man themselves took pity on the guy and ultimately replaced him with alternate antagonists.

All of these "predecessors" did form a type of villain, a niche that the Ice King nicely filled. However, the Ice King's first "function" was not to be such a sad clown of a villain...

Mortal Kombat Legends: Smoke Screen Chapter 9: The Ultimate Showdown

In the palace throne room, Ermac and Skarlet were preparing to finish off Rain, just as Ermac was getting ready to steal the Hydromancer's soul, major Briggs grabbed the Soul master and threw him away to the wall on the left, the blood mistress attempts to attack Jax, but is shadow kicked by Cassie.

Robin: Think you two could handle the ugly mofo and the bride of Yobbo?

Cassie: I think we can.

Said the commander, as she put her back against the major's.

Cassie: You ready, uncle Jax?

Jax: I got some unfinished business with this mufucker.

Skarlet: But didn't you wake up Ermac from his regeneration first—

Ermac: Be silent, woman, this is between him and us.

The rest of the group continue, as the Special Forces engaged in kombat, the others continue, being stopped in their tracks by the Kytin champion. As D'vorah's kin swings his blade, the speedster stops it with his hook swords and Outworlds avenger jumps at the insectoid, knocking him down to the ground.

Robin: Kabal and I'll take care of momma's boy, you just go ahead, protect their majesties.

Smoke and Sub Zero boldly look at eachother and then back at Red Robin, nodding together and sprinting off together to save the empress and kahn.

As the Lin Kuei bretheren head forward, right before the stairway to the lookout tower stood the Tremor, raising the rubble around him.

Tremor: I'm sorry, but i mus'nt let you go further...

Smoke: (to Sub Zero) Kuai, I'll take him on, find and stop Kano.

As the cryomancer nodded, the geokinetic ninja slammed the rubble on the ground, destroying it, revieling an underground Trigor pit, which stood there ever since Shao was still kahn of outworld. Sub Zero used his ice magic to create ice spikes, which he uses to climb to the tower entrance. He called two guards to go with him, and now, he knew exactly what he had to do now.

Sub Zero: KANO!

The master of ice yelled, as he rushed up to the tower's peak. As he was reaching the top, Kitana and Mileena are trying their damnest to keep up with the Black Dragon leader, but they can barely leave scratches on the aussie. As they're highnesses fall onto the ground with a leg sweep, Kano sighs, charging his cold, byonic heart.

Kano: Ya know, this could all have been avoided, just by handing me the throne, but I like you two... Tell ya what? Show your honor to me, I'll spare your lives and make you the queens of, oh i dunno... Japan?

He chuckled. Kitana and Mileena said nothing, nor could they do anything, as they're weapons were on the ground and they were injured. Kinana then spat at the australian, Mileena in disbelief. The australian hummed, his expression unchanged.

Kano: Welp, can't win em' all.

As he was getting ready to wipe Kitana off the face of the Outworld, a loud noise was heard behind, which sounded like swings of an axe against wood. Kano turned to see Kuai Liang and a broken door. The cryomancers bold expression gleamed at the arms dealer.

Kano: Well, If it ain't Chilly Willy. Here to whatch we take the throne, or run away, like when Scorpion lost his arm during the invasion?

Sub Zero: Neither of those two will happen. I'm done running, lets settle this once and for all.

Kano: Alright, first, get these two outta here, we don't wanna hurt the ladies while we fight.

The guards, who followed Sub Zero, take they're highnesses downstairs.

Sub Zero: I've looked forward to this... many will be thankful for what i'm about to do.

Kano: Well, lets not stand around and get to the fighting.

He said, as he reached for his pocket, Kuai Liang was flabbergasted. The Black Dragon leader pulled out Scorpion's amulet, it shined in the setting sun.

Sub Zero: You took it!

Kano: ...And your little boyfirend never told you what else it could do other than take you from a realm to realm, did'nt he?

Kuai Liang was furious, forming his kri sword, he spun it a bit before pointing it in Kano's direction.

Sub Zero: Enough talking, face me, scum bag, in Mortal Kombat.

Kano took a knife that was in his boot strap, in his other hand the amulet.

This is it, the final battle; Scorpion vs. D'vorah, Cassie and Jax vs. Ermac and Skarlet, Kabal and Red Robin vs. The champion, Smoke vs. Tremor, and Sub Zero vs. Kano. They're whole journey has lead up to this point. The tention was so thick you could cut through it with a knife. And it was finally time for one epic, final, Ultimate showdown.

The battles begin all at once, they're combat shakes the entire palace.

The Earthrealmers continue the fight against the queen of insects and her minions, but with Robin and Kabal, the tide is slowly turning in their favor. the champion throws Robin aside, and Skarlet gets the upper hand on Cassie, and is ready to finish her off, when Jax punches the blood mistress, and Cassie knocks her out with her baton. Ermac gets up, and throws a few more energy blasts at Jax and Cassie. Jax is able to deflect them, and Cassie charges in, punching the soul sacker to the floor, and the two earthrealmers deliver a devastating kick, launching Ermac across the hall. The insectoid stands before them, ready for another round, decking Outworlds Avenger right in the face, shattering his mask and knocking him back a few meters, the Speedster notices this, rushing in his friends aid.

Kabal: Red! You Arright, pal?

Robin: Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry. I got a plan...

He quickly explains his idea, Kabal nods and they head fourth. Kabal rushing behind the big bad bug, grabbing him with his swords, ready to finish him.  As the champion screeches and tries to grab the nomad, Robin uses his fire-like magic to ignite his daggers and throw them at the kytin champion's eyes, and Kabal Spinning him with the swords and slamming him onto the floor face-first, and the daggers protrude right out of the back of the head, finishing D'vorah's kin. The Knives return to the sender, sheathing themselves in the caped warrior.

Robin: Fatality.

Jax and Cassie look back at them, and they all cheer in unison, Skarlet escaped without anyone's notice. The Earthrealmers celebrate, as the guards and other warriors come to their aid. Jax hugs Cassie, and Kabal does the same, Robin, still not feeling like he belongs in the family.

Robin: *ahem* Let's not celebrate to soon, the ninjas need our help!

Cassie: You're right, lets go!

The image cuts to Smoke and Tremor Dueling in the underground chambers, both stronger than ever. Tremor keeps throwing minerals at the gaseous ninja, who keeps dodging them. Smoke throws a shuriken at the stone giant, and the two rush, clashing their fist.

Smoke: I do not wish to fight you! understand Tremor--

Tremor: I wouldn't fight you neither, but I have no choice. I have no will, and no life, I only exist for him. He wants me to kill you, and I'll do anything for him, even if it means my own demise. I'm sorry, but you are an obstacle, and obstacles must be removed.

Smoke is trying his best to dodge as many blows as he can from the stone giant, but he is too strong, swing after swing, he gets stronger. Smoke gets knocked back, and finally figures out his pattern, which allows him to get a few lucky strikes, which finally gets Tremor down to the ground with a leg sweep. The golem tries to get up, but the master of mist puts a dagger at his throat.

Smoke: Don't. I know when someone doesn't feel right, and i know a pain sears your heart. Tell me, I can help you.

Said Smoke, as he made his dagger disapear. The earth ninja sighed, and got off the ground to sit to the wall behind him. As he opened his mouth, the image shifts to still shots of his past.

Tremor: I was once a happy and just man. I had it all: a wife, daughter, and a place i could call home... that is until that faithful day. The invasion started, and we tried to escape. My wife was taken from me by the hands of Shao Kahn's soliders, and I tried escaping with my daughter, I held her close, and we tried to hide. When the building was fallen, I couldn't find her. Just then, Kano found me, and took me in, he said he could help me with getting them back. I had nothing left to lose, so I joined him and he took me to his base in Outworld. The more I was there, the more my body started to change, turning me into this golem I am today. My mind was broken, my body disfigured, and my soul felt like it left my body... you realize now why I do this. And don't pretend like you know, how could anyone know my pain?

The gaseous ninja heard his reasoning for his actions, making him reflect on his own past.

Smoke: I am truly sorry... I lost those who are dear to me too. My sister and mother, who I've lived with were taken from me, I was left alone in the world, until I was taken in by the Lin Kuei's grandmaster. There, I met Kuai Liang and Bi-Han, who I've become brothers with. I've been taught to use powers even I didn't knew I had, and I had my fairshare of disagreements, but we were united as one. When the cyberization of my clan began, I was the only one left who had a soul of my own. I was slain, and brought back to the world of the living. I was terrified that it might happen again, but I wasn't alone. Kuai Liang, Sub Zero, was there too, helping me get through it. If you come with me, we could find a cure for your disability.

The geokinetic was left speechless, and tears shed from his eyes. He quickly wiped them off, and he looked at Smoke's golden-yellow eyes and got off the ground.

Tremor: Okay. Lets stop the others. But how? I am not as powerful as him. I am not even sure if I can beat him.

Smoke: Kuai Liang is fighting him now, we have to see if we can help him.

The image cuts to the Outside of the palace, with corpses of Kytin warriors and fire over the floor, and Hanzo Hasashi standing in the middle of them all. The wound in D'vorah's stomach has healed, due to her inane healing factor. She stood there, staring at the Shirai Ryu with utter rage. She charged at the ninja, and Scorpion threw his Kunai at her, which she dodged and grabbed. He threw more at her, which she blocked and threw some acidic venom at him, he dodged, and she protruded her four tendrals from her back, hitting him with a few swings. He got up, and threw his chain spear at her, which went straight through her arm. She screeched, and ripped it off her body, and jumped at him, attempting to pin him down, however, he grabbed her by the neck and threw her off him. She stood there, still dazed. Scorpion threw his spear at her, jumping over her and phasing through the ground but still keeping her above it. He makes the spear go fully around D'vorah, jumping out of the ground and pulling the spear back to himself, splitting the insectoid in two, right down the middle. The pieces fall onto the ground, and the ninjas walks over the carcass.

Scorpion: Scorpion wins, flawless victory.

 The image cuts back to the inside of the tower, Sub Zero and Kano still in combat. They both are starting to get exhausted, but Kano is able to keep up with Kuai Liang's cryomancer abilities. Kano pulls out a knife and cuts the cyromancer, leaving a huge scar across the Lin Kuei's eye, and he falls over. Kano chuckles and puts the knife away.

Kano: Welp, guess your little plan didn't work, eh Chilly Willy? Ya know, I'm glad I didn't kill you back at the invasion. This, this is much sweeter, ain't it? Now, what was the deal? Oh yeah, I'm gonna rip your fucking arm off, and shove it up your ass. But first, I want you to suffer. I'm going to let your little boytoy watch you bleed to death, and when you're on the brink of death, I'll send his head back to your clan, and the rest will follow, and no one will mourn you. No one. Got it? Good. Now, say goodbye, ya fuckin' pansy.

The cryomancer knew he couldn't go out like this. So he dodged Kano's laser blast and redirect it into his own arm to free himself, and with his ice powers makes a new one. He rushes towards the arms dealer and delivers a powerful punch. Kano tries to attack the Lin Kuei, but he was too quick. He then jumps behind him, and kicks him into the floor, and he freezes his legs, which the Black Dragon leader quickly breaks out off. Sub Zero throws a barrage of icicles at the Black Dragon leader, but Kano manages to break them all and throw energy blasts with the amulet at Kuai Liang. They both continue the fight. Kano attempts to throw a knife at Sub Zero, but the cryomancer grabs his hand and freezes his arm, making the Aussie yell in pain. Sub Zero punches the Black Dragon leader and knocks him out the window, from which he survives by grabbing onto the side with his knife, and uses to get back up. Suprisingly, Kano is impressed with how Kuai Liang has been doing, he aplauds him even.

Kano: I gotta admit, I thought I was gonna kill you, but it seems that's not the case. Maybe I'll just let you have the throne and be on my way, but not without a souvenier.

As he was taking the amulet off, Kuai Liang threw a kunai at his arm, making Kano drop the amulet, and the cryomancer used his ice powers to grab it, and throw it outside, and the Aussie was left without an exit. Sub Zero walked over to the Black Dragon leader and picked him up, looking straight at his bloodied face, and then, he delivered a devastating headbutt. The cryomancer was preparing to deliver the final blow onto the Black Dragon's leader.

Kano: Well don't just stand there, do it!!!

Kuai Liang stood there in silence, throwing his ice out the window, and looking back at Kano.

Sub Zero: No. It was my soul desire to kill you ever since I saw you, but now  I'm no longer blinded by my rage. I am sending you to the Special Forces, you must stand trial.

Tremor and Tomas rush upstairs to see Kano with his hands behind his back and Kuai Liang holding him in the heavely damaged lookout tower.

Smoke: This was all you?

Sub Zero: I'll explain later. Lets take him to Commander Cage and Major Briggs.

Kano looked at Tremor with anger in his eyes.

Kano: You fucking traitor, you'll pay for this!

Tremor: (To smoke) He's all yours.

As he said that, Kano tried to reach for his pistol, but before he could even grab it, Kuai Liang chopped the Black Dragon leader's neck, knocking him unconscious. The three went downstairs to join the others. When the group came down, they all looked at Kano with hate in their eyes, Robin was the most disgusted.

Cassie: So, this is the man responsible for everything, huh?

Jax: We should have killed him years ago.

Robin: We can do that now, if you'd like.

Cassie: Nah, we can do that later.

Commander Cage calls base, to which general Blade quickly responds to.

Sonya Blade: Cage, this better be important.

Cassie: It is, ma'am. The mission is complete.

Sonya Blade: Amazing! You may return tomorrow, to bring him in when the sun rises.

Cassie: We'll bring him in ASAP, Commander Cage out.

She said as she cut off the communication.

Kitana and Mileena, who were healed up after that big fight, walk into the lobby to greet and congradulate the team.

Kitana: We were saved, thanks to you, Earthrealmers. You have our gratitude.

Mileena: Yes, our eternal gratitude. You are truly the defenders of the realm.

Cassie: Thanks, but we couldn't have done it without the help of Robin and the ninjas.

Robin: You guys are giving me too much credit.

Smoke: And we wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for You, commander.

Kitana: Well, whatever the case, you have all proven yourselves worthy, and will be rewarded.

Tremor: That won't be nessecary, your highness, I didn't earn anything of material worth.

Smoke: You earned my trust, Tremor.

Cassie: So, does that mean we get to sleep over?

Kitana: For the night, yes, and you may leave tomorrow. But what about Kano?

Jax: I can put this device that cancels out all electricity on whatever its placed on.

He put that on Kano's head and it activated, stopping him from using his prosthetic eye or heart, and two guards send him to a dungeon with chains hanging his arms.

Tremor: Well, I'll be heading off. I don't feel like partying.

Sub Zero: If you earned Tomas' trust, you've earned mine, too. Stay, we'll celebrate tomorrow.

Tremor: I'm no good with crowds, sorry.

Robin: You know, you're sounding a whole lot like me before I met this squad. They ain't half bad actually.

Tremor was scared but his heart was in the right place.

Tremor: Alright, I'll give you all a chance. But I can't promise I won't run off.

Cassie: Good, lets get some sleep, y'all.

And everyone went to their respective rooms to get some shut eye.

It's always so interesting to me to see the fandoms I'm hyperfixating on and compare the fandoms with ocs vs the fandoms with no ocs (that I've made).

Like Amnesia for example, the fandom I have 40+ OCs in and have been in for over 10 years now. I spent a year of that time focused on just the characters that I had to work with before eventually being like "MM, yeah, no I need more spice." And made Derpy (I'm so sorry your name has aged so poorly my guy), Phantom, and Linard. 2/3 of those OCs were made to build off of pre-existing characters. (Derpy to build off of Piggeh and his development, and Phantom to build off of Skully + Stephano's (Yes both, it gets complicated if I say why). Linard post 2015 kind of accidentally became that with Torchy because when I first made Linard, they weren't brothers.)

And even then, I still focused a lot on those connecting characters (Stephano, Piggeh (who got abandoned and sidelined for Skully and Torchy whoops), Skully, Torchy, and Teddeh were characters I focused heavily on partially DUE to said connections). And then I finally realized after working on Jordyn and trying to flesh out the Barrel Army which I had completely entirely neglected minus Derpy, Axel, and Iris (+ Riku and his kids) pre2018, I was neglecting the main characters again. So I went back to them (they still weren't my main focus rip </3) and began working again on characters I hadn't given much development to.

Like god damn I hated Jennifer so much from 2013 to 2021ish because I couldn't find a way to make myself like her or write her character in a way that didn't make me hate her. WHICH IS WEIRD CONSIDERING THE PARALELL OF SHITTY THINGS HER AND TORCHY DID, BUT MAN DID I LOVE TORCHY BECAUSE HE WAS MENTALLY OFF HIS ROCKER (and so was I) So yknow what I did? I gave her a lesbian arc. She's not into men! She was confused and projecting! She likes WOMEN DAMMIT! Her and Pipe are girlfriends now and I adore her! She cut her hair! She stopped wearing skirts and traded them for overalls! She uses brass knuckles to punch dicks in their jaw! AS SHE SHOULD!

Then compare to the two other main fandoms I'm in - Ace Attorney and Ninjago - of which I have ZERO OCs for. I don't even count the fanseason villain (Ninjago resdemption au, somewhere between season 7 and 8) as an OC because I haven't fucking done any work on him yet. I just know what his main motive is and how it plays into the preexisting character's lives. Literally with both Ace Attorney and Ninjago I'm more focused on the preexisting characters and their relationships WITH EACH OTHER.

Like I want to explore the parallels between Kai and Morro, I want to explore Lloyd's trauma, I want to explore Kai and Nya and Lloyd's relationship with each other, I want Kai to be mad Lloyd was forced to grow up so fast. I want him to be mad he had to be a parent to Nya. I want him to fuck Acronix's and Krux's shit up. I want ZANE to explore VENGENACE on VEX "Tris he's not vengeful!" I WANT ZANE TO MAKE VEX BITE THE CURB IN 4K!!! HE'S AN ICE NINJA FOR A REASON AND I FEEL LIKE MAKING ZANE MAD EVERY NOW AND THEN WOULD GIVE HIM MUCH MORE NEEDED DEPTH TO HIS CHARACTER! we have firey temper with Kai but we need some cold and calculated (AND JUSTIFIED) anger for Zane because THAT WOULD BE TERRIFYING!

And with Ace Attorney it's the same! I want so badly to explore certain characters relationships and parallels with each other because OOOOOUGH... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

My partner told me in early winter (we weren't dating then) when I had just fallen deep into my Morro hyperfixation/kin that we should make Ninjago ocs together and I could feel every part of me protest because I don't need ocs for certain fandoms. If the characters have the depth they need, sometimes it's better to just explore them instead of making new ocs. Like fuck with Sora and Arin, I definitely don't feel like we need any more (main) Ninjago characters. So I don't need to be making any. Honestly, some of my beef with DR is the oversaturation of new characters we've gotten instead of exploring some old relationships and old character dynamics (Which I know we will be getting more of come august).

Anyways TLDR: Sometimes fandoms don't need ocs (from me), sometimes the characters just need to be explored in more meaningful ways. Other times I spend 10 years hyperfixating on something and make 40+ OCs.

This is very much my scattered thoughts, though I wanted to make a general idea post about an idea focused on all throughout Wano. Fire/heat, how characters interact and react to it, and how it is woven throughout the arc’s story.

-Starting with the obvious Oden's "Oden wouldn't be Oden if it weren't boiled!" Oden and his retainers withstanding the heat during the Hour of Legends.

-I love the cut scene from the Road to Laugh Tale special of a young Izo and Kiku not being affected by the heat of the hot pot Oden shares with them. Have Kiku putting on a brave face after being injured on the roof too.

-Shinobu is able to evade Kaido's first blast breath, saving the group with her. The ruins of Oden Castle being destroyed is such a hauntingly effective way to show that the past can't be returned to, especially with it happening soon after we learn that Kin and co were sent to the future.

-Raizo resists the heat from the fire and outlasts Fukurokuju, who is stuck in his old ways of how ninja should live. Raizo is later the one to lead the effort to put out the flames of Onigashima Castle, which were added to by a man hopelessly held captive by his fear from twenty years past.

-Kin'emon being able to cut flames, Zoro learning to do the same feel like each of them moving past a burden or having a moment of clarity. It’s really neat how both are able to slice Kaido’s fire breath. Kin felt helpless against Kaido while in the burning castle in the past, Zoro having an important flashback to Kuina/Shimotsuki Village, a rarity for him.

-Fire or fire attacks were involved during the defeats of Kaido, King, Fukurokuju, Kanjuro, Queen, and Orochi.

-Luffy is able to shake off Kaido's fire breath because he has "guts." Totally keeping with the theme, while also being nonsensical in the best way. Oden seemed to be able to accomplish this feat as well.

-I remember Kawamatsu having a line about there being no honor in burning to death by the flames engulfing Onigashima Castle.

-Hiyori seemed pretty ready to let her rage consume her and die if it meant getting her revenge on Orochi.

-Momo has his flame clouds, fire being the very thing that both destroyed Oden castle and that kept Onigashima from crashing, because he was able to tackle his fear and create the clouds.

-Got some neat stuff about Marco's phoenix flames helping those affected by the ice oni virus.

-The Fire Festival culminates in a scene of Toko being brave and sending a revised message to her dad on her lantern.

(18) — a memory of a time you felt loved

ELYSIA ; there's a lot leading up to my departure... i really wish i knew how to receive love better because i remember eden organizing a tea party all by herself for us. she was never overly romantic because that was my thing, but i felt her love as she poured tea for both of us, in a quiet garden. i remember kevin, with his ice cold heart, crying in the other room after having just told me how much it pained him for me to go, yet i didn't know how to comfort him so i just left him. that was really mean of me, yet still, he loved me too. and of course my dearest mei who looked for me when i disappeared. i thought it'd be easier for us to spare the goodbyes but she was so distraught and i couldn't bear it, because she loved me too. somehow it's memories of being loved that makes me sad the most.

AERITH ; my canon is almost the same as source, so zack my love my everything, i could spend everyday with him and wouldn't miss a thing. he was always busy but he made time for me and that made me happy. i really thought he was the perfect guy. then there was cloud, he acted cold but he was so easy to melt, it was fun teasing him because he's a big softie deep down who couldn't take some playful flirting. him and his group were really fun, i was definitely closer with avalanche than in canon as i had many fond memories with them. for example tifa my bestie, she's so strong but also feminine in a lot of ways!! we went shopping every other week and gossiped about the boys <3 i also miss my mom a lot. and also since you asked, i do have memories with yuffie particularly her teaching me ninja moves because i wanted to learn hjfkdh. I think it went well though i never actually got to use them in battle
